19 of Medvedev's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hard courts
A revitalized Daniil Medvedev secured his first title for 882 days with a win over Corentin Moutet in the tournament final.
Medvedev, a ex- world number one, has experienced a difficult season, managing just one match at the Grand Slams and suffering a setback at the New York tournament.
The player's varied form on the tennis tour - and struggles with his serving in especial - resulted in him dropping out of the world's top 10 and ultimately splitting with long-term trainer Gilles Cervara.
Now working with Johansson and Goetzke, Medvedev has steadily improved in the recent weeks - peaking in a closely contested three-set triumph over challenger Moutet.
It is Medvedev's initial trophy after the Italian tournament and initial on a hard court from that period of the previous year.
The win also indicates Medvedev has secured 21 victories at 21 different competitions.
"For the first time I'm at a event with my children simultaneously, so to win a trophy is really nice," said world number 14 Daniil Medvedev.
"This championship is in dedication of my second daughter her name, because the maiden victory I got when my older daughter her name was delivered was for her."
The athlete, the 2021 US Open champion, had been defeated in his past six championship matches, comprising in the German tournament previously this season.
Medvedev's retrieving strategy and frequent emotional displays on the playing surface had prompted observers to wonder if his capacity to play at the elite level was over.
Yet the athlete has made changes in recent weeks, striving to come to the net and compete positively, reinforced by an improved service.
Medvedev fought back from a deficit in the initial set against the challenging Frenchman, taking four of the last five points to go ahead.
The pair exchanged break points in the following set before Moutet, striving for his initial ATP Tour victory, seized the initiative to force a decider.
The opponent rescued 4 early chances in a tight final set before the Russian won the break to that score to serve for the match.
Suitably, Medvedev clinched the win with a shot at the net area, with the Frenchman incapable to handle a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
